Our History

Since opening its doors in 1963, Hale County Hospital has been an integral part of healthcare in Greensboro and the greater Hale County region. Its establishment marked a significant milestone in the area’s medical landscape, as Hale County was the second-to-last county in Alabama to gain a public hospital. The hospital's construction was made possible through a combination of federal, state, and local funding, including a crucial contribution from the Hill-Burton Act, which aimed to improve healthcare infrastructure in underserved communities across the United States.

For over half a century, Hale County Hospital has adapted to meet the changing needs of the community, providing essential medical services, supporting economic growth, and standing as a beacon of stability in a region with limited healthcare access.
